The iCluster Subcommittee was appointed by the U.S.-Mexico Entrepreneurship and Innovation Council, acquiring its name based on the conjunction of innovation and industry clusters in a region. iCluster matches Innovation Agendas and the analysis of reliable economic datasets to define multinational innovation clusters related with the smart specializations of the target region. This organization worked hand in hand with the Mexican Technology Platform (MTP), as the iCluster Project coordinator during its three phases. The iCluster Project acquired its name from this MUSEIC Subcommittee endorsed by diverse binational organizations.
The iCluster Subcommittee coordinated all data mapping efforts, collaborating with the organizations responsible for economic censuses and cluster mapping in the United States, Mexico, and Canada and interacting with key public-private stakeholders. It also closely collaborated with the MUSEIC Women Entrepreneurship Subcommittee and interacted with the other MUSEIC subcommittees. It was responsible for generating cross-cutting information relevant to all pillars of the High-Level Economic Dialogue by cross-matching regional smart specializations and binational supply chain data.
The iCluster Subcommittee coordinated and participated in a large number of national, binational, and trinational meetings and events in North America, forming expert groups with the support of the PTM.
